Creator of the Cultural Social Responsibility concept, Sergio López Figueroa is the director and founder of Big Bang Lab, a cultural-social enterprise and creative development agency working from consultancy to production and creative learning, actively promoting cultural heritage as a means towards sustainability and socio-economic development. His role as a cultural activist and social entrepreneur emerged in 2004 with a multicultural classical new music platform for social inclusion. In 2009, he won a Cultural Leadership Programme award supported by the British Council, adapting Big Bang Lab’s model of creative use of audio-visual archives, new music and participatory digital media production in India.

Delhi City Symphony was the outcome, involving underprivileged children as co-creators of silent films, documentaries and new music starting from indian classical tradition. Global City Symphony is a community and urban development partnership programme aiming to connect communities with heritage whilst promoting a new generation of social-creative-cultural entrepreneurs.

GLOBAL CITY SYMPHONY: FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Sergio is looking to raise sponsorship to move Global City Symphony to the next stage. He has been invited by the international think tank Urban Age Institute (supporters of the Global City Symphony) to attend the Meeting of the Minds Conference [www.meetingoftheminds2010.org] which will be taking place in Omaha, Nebraska from the 16th to 18th June. The conference is looking at innovations for more sustainable cities. This is a great opportunity to pitch the project to potential sponsors and forge partnerships.
