Crowdfunding – Patrick Geddes Library

Crowdfunding – Patrick Geddes Library
August 2014

We have just launched our first crowdfund as BOLD. (Take a look here! And check out the animation that our very own Martin has lovingly created)

Working with Scottish Historic Buildings Trust we are raising funds and awareness to help ‘grow’ the Patrick Geddes Library. Patrick Geddes, though living in the 1800’s, has a philosophy towards life that is still hugely relevant today. This library will be an active place where people of all ages can learn and then ‘do’ – there won’t be any quiet reading in the corner for long!

Excitingly we have also been joined by the anonymous gifted sculptor who is creating a paper sculpture for the duration of the crowdfund, which will reside in the library once the renovation is complete.  In the meantime it will go on tour around the SHBT buildings throughout Scotland.

SHBT is aiming to raise over £25,000 – take a look at the campaign and if you fancy a few funky Christmas presents take a look at our designs which will appear on digital posters, teatowels and notebooks, not to mention the fact that you can sponsor one of Geddes original alcoves in the library.  For every donation over £50 you will also be entered into a ‘prize draw’ to win a book of original illustrated Geddes quotes by the sculptor herself.

Every entry over £10 means you become a ‘Founder’ of the library and will be invited to the ‘big reveal’ of the sculpture on October 9th.

BOLD was commissioned to set up the crowdfund, and is now donating its time to manage the actual crowdfund – all monies raised will go directly to the library (except for Indiegogo and paypal fees).
