Chief Executive of the Social Enterprise Coalition to step down in October 2009
Jonathan Bland, Social Enterprise Coalition
Today (28 May) at the Coalition’s Board meeting, I announced that I will be leaving the Coalition at the end of October. My wife and I have been planning for some time to relocate our young family to Finland. As you may be aware my wife is Finnish and we would like our children to grow up in Finland.
Over the next five months, my priorities will be working with Kirsten (our new Business Director) to ensure that all necessary income for the current financial year is in place; ensuring that the Coalition is well positioned in the run up to the general election; working with the Council and establishing the new Board; and supporting the management team in the delivery of our work programme.
As for my future plans, I will be doing some consultancy work in the UK and the rest of Europe. I will also do some work in Finland advising on the development of social enterprise.
On a personal note, we have bought a 100 year old Finnish croft which we are currently restoring. I may even fulfil a long standing ambition of writing a book!
Our Chair, Claire Dove will be leading the recruitment of a new CEO and the process will begin in mid-June. I am sure there will be many excellent candidates. It is a fantastic role, one that I have immensely enjoyed. I am grateful for all your and support over the past six years.
Finally, I attach below a copy of the press release which we have issued today.
