‘Business for the environment’ award.
Sustainable Communities Initiatives has won the ‘Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) Award’ for small businesses. This annual award is supported by the CBI, SEPA, the Scottish Enterprise companies, the Scottish Executive and the like.
VIBES recognises and rewards the efforts of Scottish businesses to become more efficient and competitive through improving environmental performance and benefiting a company’s bottom line.
David Alexander, Convenor of the SCI management committee said the award was ezciting and showed “that as an organisation we ‘walk the talk’.
“It is great to see recognition for the SCI staff and sub-contractors, as well as the ethos of the organisation as a whole. Typically these awards go to successful commercial companies for which the environment is a concern but not their primary business. It is brilliant that SCI has won ‘Scotland’s leading business and environment competition’; not for our innovation and worthy work but instead; for commitment, action and achievement in the way we carry out our business in an efficient and environmentally conscious way.
