You’re invited to join us at an ALL SEN session: DWP Kickstart scheme (Thursday 24th Sept, 10-11am)
DWP recently launched their Kickstart scheme, funding the creation of high quality 6-month work placements for young people (initially prioritising those aged between 16 and 24 who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long term unemployment). Funding will cover 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.
The Job placements must be new jobs (not replacing existing or planned vacancies) and must be for a minimum of 25 hours a week for 6 months. Employers should also be willing to help participants to develop their skills and experience (for example support with CV and interview preparation or training to develop skills such as teamworking).
DWP are looking for applications for a minimum of 30 job placements, if you are unable to offer this many, you can partner with other organisations to reach the minimum number.
We’re running this session with DWP to allow SEN members to find out more about the Kickstart scheme, how you might get involved, and your responsibilities would be whether you are interested in being an employer, an intermediary or if you are looking to partner with organisations to offer 30+ placements. If you are considering a partnership/consortia bid, P4P can provide support with this and will be joining us at the session.
