Our Mission is to establish and maintain a national support network for community activists and their social enterprises.
We believe that, by definition, the social economy serves the common good – not private interests.
We believe that a fair and just society will be based on the economic viability of local communities; we particularly value the contribution of small community enterprises.
We believe that social justice can be measured in the gap between rich and poor in Scotland. Our work will try to close this gap.
We value the independence of our own network. Protecting this independence is of paramount importance.
We embrace the spirit of open source, whereby our network makes information openly accessible to foster collaboration.
We will remain responsive to what our networks tell us is required next and we will work with others to create new services for social entrepreneurs.
When appropriate, we will encourage new initiatives to develop independence, releasing us to move on to the next challenge.
We seek to avoid scaling up – and prefer to work in partnership with others – scaling, if necessary, only through collaboration.
