4,000 downloads for Social Enterprise London’s Transitions guide
David Ainsworth, Third Sector
A guide setting out how public sector workers can turn the services they run into social enterprises was downloaded by almost 4,000 people in its first week of existence.
Transitions, produced by Social Enterprise London for the local authority umbrella body London Councils, provides advice for public sector workers and sets out a case for how social enterprise can be effective in the public sector.
Matt Jarratt, director of communications at Social Enterprise London, said he was "pleased but not surprised" by the response to the guide.
"The interest is both from chief executives looking to create top-down change and from ordinary workers interested in doing it from the bottom up," he said. "The guide is just the first step in a programme of work to help local authority workers understand social enterprise, and it points the way to more detailed information we’ve made available."
