WoodWorks is an innovative new programme for enterprising and creative young people (16 to 25 years) who are inspired to learn about and work with wood or with woodlands. Our aim is to develop new ways of supporting young people to turn their ideas into practical action. Young people will get the chance to connect with the natural world, establish their own wood-based enterprise, and to realise their potential by adding value to Scotland’s woodland resources. Watch this short video to find out more.
The woodland enterprise incubator programme is designed to support young entrepreneurs (16-25 years old) to develop their business ideas. This will include a year long support programme (first phase ended in April 2017) tailored to fit the needs of the individual & to cater to the stage at which they are in their business development.
The program includes: Mentorship from traditional crafters; Business advice; Shared accountancy systems; Shared workshop facilities & tools to develop woodland products; Personal studios; Co-operative branding & marketing; and a variety of raw materials.
