The Green Tree

The main aim of Banff and Macduff Community Trust is to create and encourage a sense of community and pride of place which fosters the wellbeing of the two towns – and it hopes to have found the recipe for achieving that in The Green Tree.
For The Green Tree – the Trust’s community café – is much more than somewhere that offers a warm welcome, the highest standards of customer service and mouth watering food. The Green Tree is a social enterprise, which means that all of its profits are reinvested into projects which benefit the communities of Banff and Macduff.
Based in the heart of Banff’s historic town centre at 18 Castle Street and just a stone’s throw from Banff Castle, the café is open from morning until early evening. It is a coffee shop and restaurant, with plans coming soon to develop a community hub where customers can access information about local events, activities and, of course, the work of the Trust.
Our chefs are committed to using only the finest quality ingredients and source produce locally wherever possible. In addition to a breakfast menu that will set you up for the day ahead, The Green Tree has an all-day menu combining snacks and main meals, as well as a daily specials board.
The Green Tree prides itself on its homebakes – or fancy pieces as we call them here in the North-east - which includes everything from scrumptious scones to tempting traybakes. Why not pay us a visit and give them the taste test?
The vibrant venue is always buzzing with both local residents and visitors, no matter what the time of the day or night. Whether you are popping in for a coffee and cake, a meal or just want to learn what’s on in the local area, The Green Tree whets all appetites.
