News this week that Susan Smith (Dundee SEN) is stepping down from her position as chief executive.

Susan has overseen much of the development and growth of Dundee SEN in recent years – as well as being a great supporter of the SEN movement across Scotland.

She will be sorely missed – and we wish her the very best in her new adventures. Dundee SEN is now looking to recruit Susan’s successor – to lead it into its next stage of development.

In a leaving statement, Susan spoke of the difficult decision she took in moving on to a new challenge:

"I am leaving DSEN in a couple of months and we are currently recruiting a new CEO. I have loved my job and the time that I have been at Dundee SEN and so it is with a heavy heart that I have taken this decision.

I have taken on a voluntary chairmanship with a national remit with a voluntary organisation that is very dear to me, as well as needing more time to devote to my family (especially grandchildren), curling and local fundraising.

I hope that I leave DSEN in a strong position to go forward as there are so many good things happening in the world of SE and the third sector."
