Job Role : We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated childcare expert who is ready for the challenge of leading the development of childcare services at Pilton Community Health. We currently offer childcare to the children of parents using our services, but we see potential to develop this service to allow us to offer childcare to others in the community. The successful candidate will be dedicated to the provision of affordable, high quality childcare and understand the childcare business. S/he will be an experienced childcare practitioner with strong business sense. Ideally s/he will have experience of managing staff and developing childcare services. We have been awarded funding for a 6 month pilot of a community crèche service in north Edinburgh which any individual or organisation will be able to access. Over a 6 month development phase we will open the crèche 20 hours per week. Any spare capacity in the crèche will be marketed to allow us to use the service more effectively, and offer more children/parents the opportunity to use the crèche. Pilton Community Health Project’s crèche is a welcoming place where children can play safely while parents are taking part in other activities. We aim to provide a high quality and safe childcare where children can have fun. Our Crèche is registered with SSSC.

Organisation Profile : Pilton Community Health Project has been working in the North Edinburgh area since 1984 and prides itself on being the longest serving community health project in Scotland. We work using a community development approach to identify and tackle issues that affect individual’s health. We use a social model of health; understanding people and their life circumstances and how health is affected by these.
