Job Role : The post of Marketing & Events Officer provides an exciting opportunity to develop and implement The Touring Network’s events, marketing and communications strategies, as the Network approaches its 20th anniversary year in 2018. This is a new role that demands enthusiasm, energy and excellent organisational skills to overcome some of the communication challenges inherent within the Network’s diverse membership. Working closely with the Touring Network’s Services Manager, the Marketing & Events Officer will be responsible for raising the profile of The Touring Network and the activity of its members, and increasing levels of engagement with our events and services. This is a fixed term post, currently funded by Creative Scotland until the end of March 2018, which may be extended subject to funding. Key Objectives To develop and implement The Touring Network’s marketing and communications strategy, under the guidance of the Services Manager. To support the Services Manager to plan and coordinate The Touring Network’s series of events. To raise awareness of The Touring Network and the activity of its members.

Organisation Profile : The Touring Network supports, represents and connects a vibrant community of independent promoters in the Highlands and Islands - people who transform remote community spaces into cultural centres and performance venues. The Touring Network is committed to creating a dynamic and diverse cultural life within this region. The organisation is currently based in a central office in Inverness with some remotely based staff and contractors, however the office will be relinquished at the end of July 2017, with all staff and contractors working remotely. Whilst there is preference for the candidate to be based in the Highlands and Islands, location would not necessarily be a barrier to the appointment providing a suitable solution can be found.
