Job Role : This newly-created post is a dynamic opportunity to lead an arts-led community venue, based in the recently transformed Dunoon Burgh Hall. This requires a Director with the ability to head up and energise projects, mobilise and establish working relationships locally and with the wider region, generate income and develop high-level arts and culture relationships.  The Director will lead in all business, strategic and development aspects to deliver the five-year business plan and to continue the development of the on-going, inspired arts programme. The successful candidate will strengthen relationships with funders and stakeholders, lead and manage the operating team and align with the Board on performance targets as well as to continue to develop community and partnering relationships.    Strong commercial/financial, organisational and communication skills are required as well as the ability to consider broader social issues. Knowledge/experience of visual and performing arts is an important asset.

Organisation Profile : The DBHT and the Dunoon Burgh Hall are at the heart of the community as anchor organisations for Dunoon. This iconic building within the main town in the area has undergone a transformational refurbishment, the continuing driving force is firmly ensure it is a vehicle to deliver the wide range of cultural, artistic and business ambitions within the area and be instrumental in the regeneration of the town. The Trust has a record of achievement in:  Innovation; such as the Dunoon Film Festival started in 2013. Co-production; such as the Dunoon Book Festival in collaboration with the Dunoon business improvement development team.  Contemporary art and collaboration with organisations such as NGS/Tate ARTIST ROOMS accessing cutting edge exhibitions from iconic global artists, using the works to deliver learning programmes and events.   Collaboration, with volunteer groups and local events such as Cowalfest, Cowal Open Studios and Youthstuff and other partner regional and national organisations such as Cove Park, The Pavillion Rothesay and Comar.
