Coalfields Learning Initiative Partnership (CLIP)
The Coalfields Learning Initiative Partnership (CLIP), an exciting, UK wide educational social enterprise dedicated to celebrating coalfield culture and history and promoting educational opportunities and research in former coalfield areas, has been cast into cyberspace.
The new Web site, http://www.coalfieldslearning.com has free resources to download that showcase good practice in regeneration in coalfield areas.
One of CLIP’s new projects ‘Dark Energy’ is dedicated to creating a national archive of photographic images of former industrial communities. Individuals, organisations and community groups from the Senscot network are invited to help expand the archive by sending their photos, videos, and images to the Web site. It is hoped people will send in images that feature examples of regeneration of former coalfields and other industrial communities such as steeltowns, textile towns and fishing communities. You are invited to contribute to this exciting participative project, which is the first of its kind in the UK to feature coalfield areas.
